Two double basses, two worlds, an unforgettable closing gala

This November, the thrilling grand closing concert of the 'Musicus Festival'. The Italian Mantova Chamber Orchestra, a participant in the 'Abbiati Award', joins top Hong Kong soloists to ignite musical sparks. Musicus Society's 'Young Musicians' Recruitment Outstanding Award winners Luo Haodu and Li Sixi will take the stage together to showcase cutting-edge double bass performances; additionally, Pipa player Zhang Ying from the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra will deliver a heart-stirring, delicate, and moving performance.

Opening with Boccherini's dramatically intense 'The House of the Devil', followed by Bottesini's rarely performed, dazzling Double Bass Concerto; then, Lao Luo's cross-cultural classic performance unfolds a surreal East-West musical dialogue; concluding with Haydn's majestic grandeur and Vivaldi's first movement of the lively concerto.

Dual, dual achievements — an evening of musical exploration filled with surprises.
